High Barrier Die Cut Lids

Foil lids are commonly used for sealing thermoformed or molded trays. They are available in a variety of sizes, with multiple material choices, printed or plain. Foil allows for high barrier protection, smooth peelability and stands up to the rigors of radiation sterilization.

When properly utilized and sealed, lidding materials such as die-cut lids can be implemented on a broad variety of tray shapes, sizes, and materials, as well as supporting sterilization methods for critically important products. Seal creep (when a lid becomes improperly aligned during the sealing process) is avoided or minimized when the foil lids are properly coated. Other required usage properties, such as flexibility under cold storage conditions is also possible with this technology.

High Barrier packaging and lidding materials helps in maintaining the efficacy of medical and pharmaceutical products, as well as improving overall safety and cleanliness. Products that are properly sealed with coated lids that are high-barrier will protect the contents from moisture, chemical contamination, oxygen, as well as different types of ultraviolet (UV) light and visible spectrum light.

While appropriate and promoted for medical and pharmaceutical use, die cut foil lids may be used in a variety of scenarios where an air-tight flexible seal is required, such as consumables. Customization is also available across a variety of material options.
